Anti-Sikh riots: Jung supports Kejriwal on SIT
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung on Monday came out in support of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's demand to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. While there was a demand for a SIT to Jung by the Delhi cabinet, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday last had met Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
"I met the Lieutenant Governor today and sought a SIT probe into the 1984 riots. He is very positive about it," Kejriwal had told reporters.
Earlier, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi said he will not apologise for the comments on 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
"I was not involved in the riots. I was not a part of it. So there is no question of apology," Rahul Gandhi had said.
