Swine Flu claims another victim in Nashik

Pune, Jun 8 : Swine flu claimed life of a 29-year-old woman in Nashik and infected five more people, all from Pune, official sources said here today.

The woman succumbed to the HIN1 virus at the civil hospital in Nashik on May 26. Besides, two cases of swine flu were reported from Pune last week, while three cases were reported in April, the sources said adding all the cases were reported before the onset of monsoon.

Meanwhile, R R Pardeshi, health chief of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), said the situation is under control. ''We are monitoring it closely'', he said.

With the onset of monsoon, the weather will be cooler and there are likely to be more cases of swine flu than during the summer, health officials said. (UNI -Posted on / )
