Madhya Pradesh offers insurance to schoolchildren
Bhopal, Aug 24 : The Madhya Pradesh government has approved a scheme for insuring
students of government schools in the state.
"The period of insurance cover has been fixed from Aug 21, 2008 to Aug 20, 2009 for the
students of Class 1 to 12", an official statement said Sunday.
The premium for the insurance cover would be Re.1 per student. The insurance is being
provided by Cholamandal M.S. General Insurance Company Ltd, Indore.
Under the scheme, Rs.50,000 would be provided to the family of a student who dies in an
accident. The same amount would also be given if a student loses both hands or legs.
