Sify's Naresh Ajwani elected as member of number resource organization
Chennai, Sept 9, : Sify Technologies Limited (Nasdaq National Markets: SIFY), a
leader in Consumer Internet and Enterprise Services in India with global delivery
capabilities, today announced the election of Naresh Ajwani - President, Consumer
Infrastructure and Operations, Sify Technologies Limited, as a member of the Number
Resource Organization - Number Council (NRO-NC), a global policy formulation body for the
Internet. Naresh Ajwani is the first and the only Indian to be elected to the NRO-NC since
its inception.
NRO-NC consists of 15 members representing five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs).
Naresh will represent Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC), one of the
registries and also co-ordinate with other RIRs for developing the Internet in other
countries. Naresh was chosen out of twelve contestants representing eight countries.
According to APNIC, as a member of NRO- NC, Naresh Ajwani will contribute to helping
developing economies improve their access to the Internet. As an Executive Council Member
with ISPAI (Internet Service Providers Association of India), he brings over 25 years of
core operational experience to this position. His rich expertise from the Indian Internet
story will help bring new perspectives to the making of global policies on Internet.

Besides being at the helm of Policy and Regulations pertaining to Telecom, IT and ITES,
Internet Governance, e-Commerce, eSecurity and Internet and Broadband, Naresh Ajwani is a
member of the CII National Committee on IT, ITES and eCommerce. He is also a Director of
the NIXI (National Internet Exchange of India) Board, since September 2007.
