Srinagar, October 24

National Conference (NC) candidate Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo on Friday expressed gratitude to his party and supporters following his win in the Rajya Sabha seat from Jammu and Kashmir

Speaking to ANI, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo said, "I want to thank god and my party for this victory... I cannot even begin to explain how happy people are... We won the first three seats, but unfortunately, some votes were rejected, which is why we lost the fourth seat..."

Jammu and Kashmir unit BJP President Sat Sharma, who won the Rajya Sabha election, also expressed gratitude to the top party leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for his candidature.

Sharma told reporters, "Everyone has supported the BJP. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah ji, and BJP National President JP Nadda ji for my candidature for this Rajya Sabha seat. We have 28 members, but four others supported us by listening to their inner voices. Was it wrong on the part of four members to listen to their inner voice?"

Celebrations held at Sat Sharma's residence following his victory.

The ruling Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) won three Rajya Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) on Friday, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured one seat.

"Listening to their inner voices" - what a diplomatic way to describe cross-voting! 😄 But seriously, NC should investigate why votes got rejected. Every vote matters in our democracy.

Good to see democratic processes continuing smoothly in J&K. Both parties have their share of wins. Hope the elected representatives work for development of the region. 🙏

The vote rejection issue needs proper investigation. If there were genuine errors in voting process, it should be addressed to maintain faith in our electoral system. Democracy works only when every vote counts.

NC winning 3 out of 4 seats shows their strong presence in the region. BJP's single seat victory with "inner voice" support makes for interesting political dynamics. Looking forward to the assembly bypolls next month!

While I respect both parties, I wish politicians would focus more on their development agenda rather than just celebrating victories. The people of J&K need concrete progress, not just political statements.
