The high turnout figures underline an active electoral exercise as polling drew to a close amid tight security arrangements across constituencies.

Great numbers indeed. But let's not forget - high turnout doesn't automatically mean free and fair elections. In Bengal, we saw reports of intimidation and booth capturing in some areas. The ECI should be transparent about how they handled those complaints rather than just praising the numbers. Apna ghr phir saaf karo!

Over 90% in multiple Bengal districts - absolute madness! In the US, we'd be thrilled with 50% turnout. India's democratic spirit is truly inspiring. The way citizens queue up patiently in the sun to cast their vote shows real commitment to democracy. This is something the whole world should learn from.

As a Tamilian, I'm proud of our 84.8% turnout! But comparing WB (91.91%) vs TN (84.80%) is unfair - WB had only Phase 1 polling in specific constituencies, while TN had single-phase polling across 234 seats. Apples to oranges. Still, hats off to both states for showing the rest of India how elections should be done! 👏

The difference from 2021 to now is staggering - WB went from 85.2% to 91.91% and TN from 76.6% to 84.8%. That's a massive 8-9% jump! What changed? Better awareness? More motivation? The numbers suggest people are getting more politically active, which can only be good for democracy.
