Congress party has lost its existence in the country: Karnataka BJP Chief Vijayendra

Karnataka BJP chief Vijayendra declared Congress has "lost its existence" nationally while praising PM Modi's global influence. He criticized Congress for neglecting Bidar's development, contrasting it with BJP's past ₹1000cr grants. Congress leader Kharge retaliated, accusing the Modi government of stalling Kalaburagi's rail and airport projects. The exchange highlights escalating tensions between BJP and Congress over Karnataka's infrastructure progress.

Bidar, April 19

In a sharp attack on the Karnataka government, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President BY Vijayendra claimed that the Congress party has "lost its existence" in the country, while asserting the global recognition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

Speaking to the media, Vijayendra accused the ruling Congress government of neglecting development in Bidar district.

"The Congress party has lost its existence in the country. The whole world knows the power of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP. There is no development in the Bidar district. When the BJP was in power, we gave a thousand crores in grants to Bidar. Let's discuss how many crores the Congress government has given after coming to power," the Karnataka BJP Chief said.

Recently, in Kalaburagi, Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party, alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not undertaken any development work for "Kalyan Karnataka" and will not do so.

"The central BJP government has failed to deliver the kind of development I have achieved in just one year over the last ten years. Despite providing free land, water, and electricity for the construction of a train coach factory in Kadechuri, the Modi government is ignoring the issue by not releasing funds. We have brought more than 27 trains from Kalaburagi to various parts of the country. But despite our request to run additional trains from Kalaburagi to Bangalore, the central government is not responding," he said.

"The people of Srinivasa Saradagi village have freely given up their lands for the construction of Kalaburagi airport. Now, no flights are coming here. The Modi government is not showing any will to start regular flight services to Kalaburagi. But the central government is only interested in one thing, and that is conducting IT and ED raids on opposition leaders," Mallikarjun Kharge said.

Strong words from Vijayendra ji! The Congress really needs to step up their game if they want to stay relevant. Development should be the priority, not politics. #BJPForDevelopment

Interesting to see both sides making claims about development. As someone from Bidar, I haven't seen much change regardless of which party is in power 🤷‍♀️ Maybe they should focus less on blaming each other?

While I support BJP, I think Vijayendra's statement about Congress losing existence is a bit exaggerated. They still have strongholds in some states. We should criticize policies, not make sweeping statements.

The airport situation in Kalaburagi is really disappointing! Both parties need to work together to make it functional. We deserve better infrastructure in North Karnataka ✈️

It's easy to throw numbers like "thousand crores" but where's the accountability? Would love to see actual project reports from both governments about what was achieved with those funds.

As a neutral voter, this constant blame game is exhausting. Can we get some concrete plans for Bidar's development instead of these political speeches? We need schools, hospitals and jobs!
