Northeast Frontier Railway to undertake outreach activities under 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign

Guwahati, Aug 9

The Northeast Frontier Railway, as part of the nationwide 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, will undertake a series of awareness and outreach activities at railway stations, offices and other establishments to spread the message of patriotism and encourage greater participation in the campaign, officials said on Sunday.

NFR's Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said that the NFR will observe the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign from Sunday to August 17 in line with the initiative of the Union government to encourage citizens to hoist the National Flag at their homes and foster a personal and emotional connection with the Tiranga.

The 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign was launched by the Union government in 2022 under the aegis of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', with the objective of inspiring citizens to participate in the celebration of the spirit of patriotism and national unity by proudly displaying the National Flag at their homes.

Sharma said that every year, NFR observes the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign with great enthusiasm, promoting the spirit of patriotism and encouraging active public participation.

Continuing this tradition, NFR will once again observe the campaign this year, across its jurisdiction, he added.

The CPRO said that the railway officials and employees will be encouraged to actively participate in the campaign and inspire their families as well as members of the public to proudly hoist the National Flag at their homes during the campaign period.

Flag hoisting ceremonies will be organised at railway offices and establishments, while prominent railway stations and other important railway premises will be illuminated in the colours of the Tiranga as a mark of national pride.

Sharma said that instrumental renditions of the National Song "Vande Mataram" will be played through the Public Address System at major railway stations, and suitable patriotic programmes will be organised to foster the spirit of unity and nationalism.

Officers, employees and members of the public will also be encouraged to upload their "Selfie with Tiranga" as a symbol of their participation in the nationwide campaign.

These initiatives aim to strengthen the spirit of patriotism, national pride and unity while encouraging everyone to celebrate the Tiranga with respect, dignity and pride, the official noted.

It's wonderful to see such organized efforts to celebrate national pride. I've been living in India for two years now and the sense of unity during such campaigns is truly inspiring. Playing 'Vande Mataram' at railway stations will definitely create a moving atmosphere for travellers. Well done, NFR!

Such a thoughtful initiative! The North East has always been the soul of India's diversity, and seeing the railways take this campaign to every nook and corner is heartening. I hope they also include some local cultural performances at the stations - that would be a beautiful blend of national pride and regional heritage. 🌟

While this is a nice gesture, I wish the government would focus more on basic amenities at railway stations - cleanliness, safety, punctuality. Patriotism isn't just about flags and slogans; it's about respecting our own people. Still, I'll participate in the selfie campaign because every little bit of positivity counts. 🙏

As a daily commuter on the NFR network, I'm glad to see them doing something beyond routine operations. Last year, I saw how beautifully they illuminated the Guwahati station - it was breathtaking! The railways truly connect our nation, and this campaign strengthens that emotional bond. Looking forward to the flag hoisting ceremonies! 🇮🇳

I've worked with Indian Railways for a project and I've always admired how they blend modernity with tradition. This campaign is a perfect example. The idea of encouraging employees to inspire their families is particularly effective - it creates a ripple effect. Would love to see some of the Vande Mataram renditions on social media!
