Man United set to sign Leicester teenager Louis Page: Report
Manchester, Aug 9
Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Leicester City teenage midfielder Louis Page, with the Premier League giants understood to be in talks over a transfer for one of the most highly-rated young players in the English game.
The 18-year-old has already gained valuable senior experience despite his age and has attracted significant interest from several top-flight clubs.
Page, who was named EFL Apprentice of the Year last season, has established himself as one of the brightest prospects to emerge from Leicester's academy. The England Under-20 international has made 21 senior appearances for the Foxes and continues to attract attention following his rapid rise into the first team.
According to a report by the BBC, Manchester United are working on a deal to sign Page, with discussions understood to be ongoing between the clubs. Arsenal and Aston Villa have also shown strong interest in the midfielder in recent weeks, but United are now looking to secure his services.
Page turned 18 last month and has already featured prominently in Leicester's senior setup. He made five starts for the club last season as Leicester were relegated from the Championship and most recently appeared in their Carabao Cup victory over Northampton Town on Saturday.
The teenager's development has been particularly impressive given that he has spent almost his entire footballing career at Leicester. He joined the club's academy at Under-9 level and worked his way through the youth ranks before making his senior debut against Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup in August 2025.
Leicester handed Page his first professional contract in September 2025, highlighting the club's belief in his potential. Because Page is under a professional contract with Leicester, United would need to reach an agreement with the League One club over a transfer fee if they are to complete the move.

This is exactly why young Indian footballers dream of playing in England - the way clubs nurture talent from Under-9 level is amazing. Page will be one to watch. Wish our ISL clubs could develop youngsters like this too! 🇮🇳⚽
United have been struggling for consistency but these academy signings are the building blocks. Louis has that hunger you can't teach. The future is bright at Old Trafford if they give him game time and don't loan him out to some Championship club.
At 18 and already 21 senior appearances? That is superb. But let's be honest - will he actually get chances at United? They have a track record of buying promising players and then forgetting them. Hope this one is different. Leicester might be losing a diamond here. 💎
Interesting how the article mentions he was in the academy since Under-9 level. What commitment from the boy and his family! But why are Arsenal and Villa being ignored? Maybe he should consider them for guaranteed minutes. United is a lottery ticket at this point in their rebuild.
The Premier League is getting younger and faster. Clubs like United are smart to sign these prospects before their price tags explode after a World Cup cycle. If he has England U-20 experience, he is clearly special. Good scouting by the new regime at Old Trafford, finally looking to the future instead of overpaying for past-prime stars.
