Madhya Pradesh Police announces major reshuffle of IPS officers from 2009-2016 batches. Avdhesh Goswami, Prashant Khare, and others get new roles.

"The reshuffle reflects the headquarters' effort to streamline operations and strengthen specialised divisions - Madhya Pradesh Police statement"

Bhopal, May 5

The Madhya Pradesh police headquarters in Bhopal on Tuesday announced a significant reshuffle of IPS officers, reallocating key responsibilities across various divisions.

The order, issued by the state Director General of Police Kailash Makwana on Tuesday, takes immediate effect and assigns new roles to several police officers from the 2009 to 2016 batches.

According to the directive, Avdhesh Goswami of the 2009 batch, who was serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) at Police Headquarters, has now been appointed as DIG (Welfare/Accounts).

Prashant Khare, also from the 2009 batch, has been given charge as DIG (Crime Investigation Department).

Manish Agrawal, another officer from the same batch, has been assigned as DIG (Training).

Kiranlata Kerketta of the 2010 batch, previously DIG (Women's Safety), will now serve as DIG (Complaints).

Manoj Kumar Rai, also from the 2010 batch, has been posted as DIG (Selection and Recruitment).

Riaz Iqbal of the 2011 batch has been entrusted with the role of DIG (Administration), while Rahul Kumar Lodha, from the same batch, has been appointed DIG (Special Task Force).

Simala Prasad, another officer of the 2011 batch, has been given charge as DIG (Women's Safety).

Shivdayal, from the 2012 batch, has been posted as DIG (Arms and Ammunition).

Among the younger officers, Manish Khatri of the 2016 batch has been appointed Assistant Inspector General (Crime Investigation Department), while Ramsharan Prajapati, also from the 2016 batch, has been assigned as Assistant Inspector General (Selection and Recruitment).

The reshuffle reflects the headquarters' effort to streamline operations and strengthen specialised divisions such as training, welfare, women's safety, administration, and recruitment.

By placing experienced officers in these roles, the police leadership aims to enhance efficiency and accountability across the force.

The move is seen as part of a broader strategy to ensure effective policing and better coordination within the state's law enforcement machinery.

This reallocation of responsibilities underscores the Madhya Pradesh Police's commitment to addressing diverse challenges, from women's safety to specialised task forces, while preparing the force for future demands.

Good to see Kiranlata Kerketta moving from Women's Safety to Complaints - she did excellent work earlier. But we need more women in top positions, not just one or two. Still a long way to go for gender parity in our police force.

Honestly, reshuffles happen every few months. What matters is whether these officers actually deliver on ground. The 2011 batch getting STF and administration is interesting - hope they crack down on crime effectively. Waiting to see results! 🇮🇳

Good move for welfare and training posts - these are often neglected. But I'm concerned about the Arms and Ammunition posting. With illegal weapons still a problem in central India, that role needs someone really sharp. Fingers crossed 🤞

Instead of just shuffling chairs, why not focus on modernising forensic labs and cyber crime units? These reshuffles are just administrative moves - real change comes from investment in technology and training. Just saying... 🤔

A much-needed reorganisation! MP has huge challenges - Naxal areas, communal tensions, and rising cybercrime. Putting experienced officers like Avdhesh Goswami in welfare is smart, but they should also consider rotational postings to prevent corruption. Still, a positive step forward 👍
