Harnessing tech for transparency, social inclusion: Delhi L-G TS Sandhu
New Delhi, June 15
Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu on Monday inaugurated a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra in West Delhi, highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mantra to harness technology to drive grassroots empowerment, transparency, and social inclusion.
Inaugurating the new facility at Vikaspuri, Sandhu described it as another step for enhancing ease of living and encouraged parents to get their teenaged children's Aadhaar data updated at the new Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
In a message on X, the Lieutenant Governor said, "This seamless service delivery reflects our unwavering commitment to public welfare. We remain dedicated to building a responsive civic framework that empowers the people of Delhi and strengthens trust between citizens and governance."
Taking to social media, Sandhu said, "Delighted to inaugurate the new Aadhaar Seva Kendra at Vikas Puri, Delhi today. This modern facility adds a vital pillar to the capital's civic infrastructure, ensuring secure, expedited processing and easier access to essential digital services for thousands of local residents."
He said, "This initiative effectively reflects the comprehensive governance model of PM Shri @narendramodiJi, where technology is harnessed to drive grassroots empowerment, transparency, and social inclusion. By streamlining administrative touchpoints, it represents a deeper nationwide transformation aimed at enhancing the overall ease of living for every citizen."
Earlier, Sandhu shared on X an article he wrote for a Hindi newspaper in Delhi.
Referring to the article, the Lieutenant Governor said, "Under the leadership of the Honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji over the past 12 years, India has established itself as a global power at both national and international levels."
"Along with the economic empowerment of people through the Jan-Dhan scheme, initiatives like Aadhaar, UPI, CoWIN, and digital public infrastructure have achieved the goal of making governance more transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric," he said.
Highlighting the infrastructure push over the past decade, Sandhu said on X, "At the same time, in this era, modern infrastructure, robust national security, and the resolve for a developed India by 2047 have infused the country with new energy and confidence. This goes far beyond technological transformation - it is also a symbol of empowering the aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians."
"Today, the world sees India as a strong economic and strategic force, an envoy of global peace, and a bold voice for the Global South. Our nation has emerged on the global stage as a more capable, self-reliant, and influential power. This transformation over the past decade is unprecedented," he said.

I've had to update my daughter's Aadhaar data recently - the Vikaspuri centre was actually decent. Staff were helpful, and the process was smoother than before. But my cousin in Najafgarh had a different experience. Says queues are long even now. So while I appreciate the L-G's enthusiasm, ground reality varies. Needs more consistent quality across all centres.
Interesting to see the L-G praising technology-led governance. Having lived in Delhi for work, I can say Aadhaar has genuinely simplified things like subsidies and banking. But the focus should also be on data security - that's a universal concern. Glad India is making progress though.
Finally some good news amidst all the political drama in Delhi! 🙏 The L-G is right about technology making governance more transparent. I use UPI every day and it's amazing. But we need to remember that digital divide is real - not everyone has smartphones. Hope the govt keeps offline options alive too.
Really appreciate the L-G's vision of 'ease of living'. The Jan-Dhan + Aadhaar + Mobile trinity has been a game changer for financial inclusion in my village. My grandmother finally gets her pension without middlemen! But we need more such centres in smaller towns, not just Delhi. 🏘️
Good to see infrastructure push. But I wish the L-G would also address the chaos in Delhi's schools and hospitals. Technology is great, but some basic civic issues can't be solved by Aadhaar centres. Prioritise properly, please. 🤷♂️
