Islamabad, Dec 1 : British Foreign Secretary David Miliband today expressed the hope that Pakistan and India will continue their bilateral cooperation in the interest of stability and economic development of South Asian region.
He made the remarks during a telephonic conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Mr Qureshi informed Mr Miliband that Pakistan had strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani called Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to express grief and shock over the terrorist attacks and assured the Indian leadership of Pakistan's support at this critical time.
He said he was in India when the terrorists perpetrated attacks in Mumbai, adding that in his extensive interaction with the Indian leaders, opinion makers and the media, he offered assistance and cooperation from Pakistan in countering extremism and terrorism which is a common enemy of both the countries.
The British Foreign Secretary lauded Pakistan's role in the fight against extremism and terrorism.
