Rajgarh, MP, Nov 22 : Congress General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh escaped an accident when a dais collapsed suddenly in this district's Suthalia village.
As soon as he reached the dais to address an election meeting, it caved in yesterday as there were more than 50 people.
After minor repairs, Mr Singh again took the mike and unleashed a vitriolic attack on the ruling BJP and quoted Bharatiya Janshakti leader Uma Bharti's comment dubbing BJP as 'dishonest'.
Mr Singh said even Ms Bharti accepted that the Congress government was better than the incumbent BJP government.
''During my regime several public welfare-oriented works were carried out and free power was supplied to the farmers but at present peasants were not getting even sufficient power supply,'' he alleged.
