Sets Appeal: Sukhwinder at L'il Champs
Mumbai/Kolkata, July 29 : The fun doubled at Zee TV's popular talent show Hero Honda SaReGaMaPa L'il Champs 2009 with singer Sukhwinder Singh visiting the sets. A sneak-peak by India Blooms
Shukhwinder ko mil gaya uska Guru……..!
The current season of Saregamapa has become so hugely popular that well reckoned artists are calling up themselves wanting to be a part of the show. The current example being the ace singer Sukhvinder Singh, who himself called up our mentor Abhijeet da to check if he could be a part of the show. The Zee team could not have thought of a better guest to mark Md. Rafi's death anniversary.
Sukhvinder was totally in awe of the little kids. Abhijeet's (contestant) rendition on Rafi saab's immortal song 'Gulabi aankhen jo teri dekhi' literally had Sukhvinder come up on the stage and dance with a scarf!
So captivated was he with the performances, that for the Saturday episode he himself wanted to test the kids on live singing. He asked them to sing all the toughest of his songs and was amazed to witness such power packed kids.
Sukhvinder Singh made Swarit do notation on his song 'haule haule se' he was so mesmerized by Swarit's talent that he came on stage and said 'Main apni gale ki kasam khata hun, yeh bacha ek ajooba hai' and then he said 'I want to learn singing from swarit'. '….mein kab se guru ki talaash kar raha tha…finaly I got my guru.'
End of all Nok Jhok
-Friendships' day celebrated on the sets of L'il Champs –
The best thing that could have happened during the friendship day celebration was that finally the two people who were always at loggerheads finally made amends! Abhijeet da & Alka yagnik are known for their Nok Jhok…finally made peace. ! Alkaji finally opened her mysterious wooden box and gave Abhijeet da a white rose, a new pair of spectacles and a friendship band and sorted all their differences. Abhijeet da, instead of pouring a lota full of water, showered a lota full of rose petals on Alka ji! It was a sight to behold!
A blushing Alka ji being floored by none other than her mentor and rival Abhijeet da!
Abhijeet da was totally shocked by this gesture. 'Abhijeet da soch rahe the pata nahi ismein se kya nikalega….' said a smiling Alka Ji. But Abhijeet da didn't forget his revenge. However, it was a sweet revenge. Instead of pouring water on Alka ji like the way she had done a while back, he showered her with rose petals…marking the beginning of a new friendship…
Kartiki turns down Saregamapa L'il Champs 2009
Kartiki Gaikwad, the Zee Marathi Saregamapa winner just refused to be a part of the current season of Zee TV Saregamapa L'il Champs…. why?? Well it seems even she was bitten by the insecurity bug. Apparently, the hugely popular singer did not want to risk her winning title.
Kartiki was asked to participate in the current season of saregamapa as a wild card entry. As per the format, at a certain stage in the show the Zee Marathi and Zee bangle winners make a wild card entry in the show to heighten the level of competition. So this year when Kartiki was approached for the same, she declined the offer making it quite clear that participating again in Saragamapa would mean putting her winner's title at peril!
Well probably everyone does not think like Aneek Dhar and Vaishali Made. Each to his own!
Sab ek se badkar ek!
When all the kids were being appreciated and cheered for their added talents and interests, one thought Shreyasi was the only kid whose heart and soul was dedicated to music. But she proved everyone wrong by making a shocking revelation that not only is she a talented singer but also a trained Kathak Dancer, an athlete and a swimming champ. When asked to perform, Shreyasi left everybody speechless!
What can we say… sab ek se badkar ek!
' International filmfests not new for me'
Rituparno Ghosh's new film 'Shob Charitro Kalponik' (All Characters Imaginary), starring Bipasha Basu and Prosenjit, has been selected for the 30th Durban Film Festival 2009, in South Africa, the filmmaker told reporters at a press conference in Kolkata. Excerpts
How do you feel about your film 'Shob Charitro Kalponik' (Afterword) to be premiered at Durban Film Festival?
It's true that this is the first time my film is being premiered at Durban Film Festival…this is the first Bengali language film to be premiered in Africa. 'Shob Charitro Kalponik' will be screened in the Panorama Section of the festival, alongside films by directors such as Woody Allen, the Dardenne Brothers, Lars von Trier, Laurent Cantet, Steven Soderbergh, Takeshi Kitano and Michael Winterbottom. But international film fests are nothing new for me…all my films so far have been showcased in various film festivals abroad.
Why is that none of your cast, especially Bipasha and Prosenjit, are not joining you at the premiere?
Generally when a regional film is premiered at an international film festival, it is the director who attends the show, unless there is an international star in the film. On second thoughts, this is the first screening of 'Shob Charitro Kalponik'…the film will be shown at other prestigious festivals as well. Then we will divide the tours among ourselves.
What are your expectations from this world premiere of your film on July 30?
This is a regional language film; so I am curious about the reaction of international audience…how they will respond, if they will be able to respond at all.
Why do you think reacting to your film will be difficult?
This is a film that you need to feel, not just watch. This is a story of poet Indraneel (Prosenjit) and his wife Radhika (Bipasha). The wife gets to know her husband better after he dies…through his poetry. This is not a subject to fiddle with. It is a cerebral film, not a melodrama.
The film took over a year to release…
That's because the producers- Reliance Big Entertainment Ltd (RBEL), wanted to premiere it at an international film festival before releasing it in India.
