Rohit Dhawan's directorial debut abandoned
David Dhawan is already going through a rough patch with Salman Khan going against him.
Now, even his son, Rohit is having troubles of his own. Rohit, who was supposed to debut as a director with the Akshay Kumar-John Abraham starrer ‘Come On Pappu’, has shifted over to writing the script for a romantic film instead, thereby shelving the film.
Rohit has confirmed the news and admits that the reason ‘Come On Pappu’ had to be given up is because its budget was making the production houses back out. At first Percept Picture Company had agreed to produce it, but they left because of fund issues. Studio 18 refused to take up the project because of the overpriced fee demanded by Akshay and John. Even Eros refused to back the project. Rohit knew it couldn’t be made on a smaller budget and it had to be shelved eventually.
He is now scripting a romantic comedy and has auditioned a few industry actors for it. He has, however, denied casting any actors as he claims he isn’t ready with the script yet and will cast only once the script is finalized.
