WORLD CUPP 2011 not based on Sachin Tendulkar!

Ravi Kapoor's upcoming film World Cupp 2011, starring Ravi Kapoor himself is playing the character of Ravi Indulkar in the film.

The resonance of the phrase “Master Blaster” always reminds us of India's Cricketing Genius “Sachin Tendulkar” and Ravi Indulkar of film World Cup 2011 is no less than Sachin Tendulkar. The female fan following for Ravi Indulkar is as big as Sachin Tendulkar’s but director cum actor Ravi Kapoor says, “The character Ravi Indulkar is indeed a copy of Sachin Tendulkar yet he’s not the real master blaster as no one can ever be compared to the legendary cricketer Sachin.”

World Cupp 2011 is a debut film of Ravi Kapoor. “Our film is definitely based on cricket and the lead character Ravi Indulkar is a great Batsman just like the Little Master. The only difference between the character Ravi and Sachin is the film World Cup 2011 is not based on Sachin Tendulkar’s life”, says an excited Ravi Kapoor. He added, “I’m a huge cricket lover, I’m just crazy about cricket and Sachin Tendulkar. I can’t tell you about the exhilarating feeling I had when I saw Sachin made a whooping 30,000 runs in his 20 years of cricket career. I’ve always been the Cricket Team Captain of my school and college and have played on National Level. I’ve been a good batsman too and used to make 100-150 runs very easily and it used to get very difficult for the opposite team to throw me off the game. I’m just mad about cricket and therefore to prove my madness, I made my debut film on cricket.”

Is the film World Cupp 2011 made keeping in mind the real World Cup, which is going to be held in February 2011? Ravi Kapoor answered, “Indians are so passionate about Cricket that we never thought about our profit with real World Cup coinciding with our film! All I want to tell the audience is whatever films they have seen previously based on cricket are completely different from the film we’ve made. When the movie releases, one can figure out the difference easily.”

The film World Cupp 2011 is complete and is set to release on 18th December. The budget of this film is 11 crores and the film also stars former cricket players Saba Karim and Nikhil Chopra, who play themselves in this film as cricket commentators.
