Malkit Singh back with his 22nd album
Mumbai/Kolkata, Nov 22 : Malkit Singh, popularly known as the 'King of Bhangra'is back with his 22nd album 'Billo Rani'under Moviebox label.
This 12-track brand new album includes production by the hit-maker Rishi Rich and Punjabi by Nature- the man who produced the dance floor smash hit 'Aashiq'.
'Billo Rani'includes the tracks Mama Great and Paundah Bhangra which promises to be a big dance floor hits over the coming months. BILLO RANI also includes the opening urban single 'Nach Billo'featuring Mumzy, which is receiving very high rotation across TV and Radio networks nationwide, said an official release.
Malkit Singh was born in the village Hussainpur near Jalandhar, Punjab. Malkit has taken his music from the Punjabi vernacular to cross-cultural experiments with various types of music including rap, house, dance, bolly wood film screens and many more.
Having successfully recorded twenty-two albums to date, some of Malkit's songs have also featured on the big screen. For example, his hit songs 'Jind Mahi'featured in the film Bend It like Beckham, and 'Gurh Nalon Ishq Mitha'in Monsoon Wedding.
In addition, his trademark anthem, 'Tutak Tutak Toothiyan,'is the best selling Bhangra song of all time and the album 'Up Front,'which featured the song, received a platinum disc. BBC news revealed that it was the fastest selling Bhangra song in the world.
