PM wants his ministers' report cards
New Delhi, Nov 21 : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday asked his ministers to submit their performance reports to him, TV reports said on Saturday.
The PM's message was conveyed in a letter written by cabinet secretary K M Chandrashekhar. The letter states that each of the ministries will have to submit a performance report for the PM's personal monitoring.
According to a Times Now report, speaking on this issue, sports minister M S Gill said, 'I will reply once I get the PM's letter.'
Former Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh welcomed the move. 'I think that is a welcome step and we all welcome this initiative taken by the Prime Minister,' he said.
'I don't know anything about it. I have not been asked. I think it is just the ministers themselves whose performance is seen by the public itself. Public knows who is performing and who is not performing,' new and renewable energy minister Farooq Abdullah said.
