Memories of 26/11 comes back as anniversary comes close
Mumbai, Nov 13 : As the anniversary of hideous 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks draws near, memories of fear and terror are coming back to the victims of Nariman House, which was one of the targets of the heavily armed militants last year.
The horror of the three-day carnage has become fresh once again in the minds of the residents who witnessed the siege of six-storey Nariman House tucked away in a narrow lane in a bustling market of the Colaba.
The bullet marks on the building and the wall outside is a grim reminder of the attack in which DR. R Zorabai, owner of the bakery and his workers were stuck and were trying hard to save their lives.
"Well memories are still going to be kind of still fresh in people''s mind, who are living very bank opposite. Possibly people have started moving on with life, but as 26/11 tends to come close, those memories are going to get back to people''s minds," said Zorabai.
Employees of the bakery also recall the fear and panic while trying to escape and save their lives.
"When the firing started, Dr. Zorabai told us to we break the grid of the window and to run. Every one was trying to escape from the small window after breaking the grid. And when we went out Dr ... came in his car and took us all along and dropped us at our homes," said Kuvar Bhadur Yadav, a bakery labour.
Nariman House was one of 10 sites attacked by gunmen during a 60-hour siege in the city that began on November 26.
