MSE looks to 'bull phase' in its history with NSE tie-up

Chennai, Nov 5 : Madras Stock Exchange (MSE) Executive Director S Venkateswaran today said the regional stock exchange today became the first in the country to have a tie-up with the National Stock Exchange.

Speaking at the launch of the MSE-NSE tie up under which MSE members can trade on NSE, Mr Venkateswaran said MSE members can now trade in cash and F&O segments on NSE.

"Presently ten stocks are now available for trading on NSE. The future of MSE is bright with scope for membership strength to rise to 500 by 2011," he said.

He also said the MSE also proposed to expand its trading terminals throughout the country.

The MSE will also conduct investor awareness workshops all over South India imder a "Securities Market Awareness Campaign." The MSE Institute of Capital Markets will sign MoUs with autonomous universities to hold part time courses in finance, he added.
