Audience will witness a different Kangana in coming films: Kangana
New Delhi, Sep 13 : She is generally associated with 'girls-on-the edge', having won lot of critical acclaim for her performances of an 'Over-the-edge' or 'psychic' girl in 'Gangster', 'Woh Lamhe', 'Life In A Metro' and 'Fashion'.
Bollywood actress Kangana, however, says that coming films will witness her 'turning a new leaf' with her coming films featuring her in roles and characters vastly different from the ones played by her till now.
The actress, who will be seen on the big screen after a long time in Sameer Karnik's 'Vaada Raha' said, ''Yes, I know I am good in characters of a drug-addict, psychic girl with negative shades. In fact, after 'Gangster' and 'Woh Lamhe', I ve been getting many such offers. However, the audience will see a different Kangana in my coming films.'' For example, her latest film 'Vaada Raha', directed by Sameer Karnik and featuring Bobby Deol as her co-star, has her in a sweet romantic role, a vastly different character from her past movies.
''I play love-interest of Bobby Deol, who plays a doctor researching on Cancer. It is a very emotional character,'' she told UNI here.
Further, Kangana is also excited about her role in Anurag Basu's 'Kites', where she is paired opposite Hrithik Roshan.
''I play a salsa-dancer in the film while Hrithik plays the role of my dance instructor,'' Kangana said.
She is all praise for Hrithik's dancing prowess.
''I learnt many dance-steps from Hritik Roshan on the sets of Kites,'' she said.
Talking about 'Vaada Raha', she said, ''Samir Karnik has made a beautiful movie. It was great working with him.'' On working with Bobby Deol, with whom she had worked earlier in 'Shaka Laka Boom Boom', Kangana said, ''Bobby is a very humble co-actor.
We make a nice-pair.'' 'Vaada Raha', which also features child actor Dwij Yadav and actor Atul Kulkarni, has music composed by Toshi-Sharib, Babbu Maan, Monty, Rahul Seth, Sandy and Sanjoy Chowdhury.
Talking about her journey from her first film 'Gangster' to 'Vaada Raha' and 'Kites', Kangana said, ''my journey has been great, touch-wood. I worked with Anurag Basu in my first film, and then did two consecutive films with him under the Mahesh Bhatt banner, what more can I ask for.'' Among Kangana's forthcoming films are 'Once upon a time', Anees Bazmee's 'No Problem' and the Telugu Film 'Ek Niranjan'.
