Web18 launches online edu community

Kolkata, Sept 4 : Web18's In.com, in association with GECOM International Pvt Ltd, proudly announces the launch of a unique website called Myschool.in.com.

A first of its kind initiative in India, the website aims to connect all members / stakeholders of a school (registered with Myschool.in.com) in a real time, virtual community. Students, teachers, parents and the school management can now register to access any part of the school's system, at the click of a mouse.

Myschool.in.com gives members the power to experience education with a technological advantage. Lesson plans for the day (currently handwritten), student assignments to be submitted, teacher-parent communication, consultations and PTA meetings, school admissions etc are now all available and accessible online.

Even more revolutionary is the possibility of conducting classes online through video capsules, as was done during the days when
schools were shut owing to the swine flu! This community also aims to connect all likeminded educationists and institutions, said a company release.

The first anchor client of Myschool.in.com is the prestigious Ryan International Group of Institutions. On a pilot phase, IN.com has launched and implemented the online community for Ryan International School, Chembur; with its entire student community registering within 4 days of its launch. This is now being rolled out to the remaining 115 Ryan schools nationally, with the remaining schools getting connected within the next 2 months.

Surya Mantha, CEO, Web18 said, 'In.com has always attempted to break new ground, and innovations are our forte. Myschool.in.com is yet another revolutionary product that will change the way education works currently. The year-end will see www.myschool.in.com as one of the strongest communities in K12 education, one that will reach out to schools nationally and globally, connecting all stakeholders of the school system.'

A host of features available on Myschool.in.com will enable all stakeholders - students, teachers, parents, alumni, non-teaching
staff, vendors, contractors, education related domain experts and job aspirants - to connect and communicate through a seamless way, using the various technological tools made available by this pioneering initiative.

Grace Pinto, Managing Director, Ryan International Group of Institutions said, 'We are thankful to Web18 and GECOM International for embarking on this special journey in K12 education which will strengthen our continuing efforts to connect all our parents, students and teachers in a single universe. The initial response has been marvelous.

'The main objective is to connect all the stakeholders of the K12 school education system. I am sure that this initiative will dramatically change the perception of schools, propelling them into the next century using web technology. This is truly a path breaking initiative and we applaud the efforts put in to support our schools' functioning''.

The community is off to a great start, having already attracted 25,000 unique visitors and 60,000 visits from 50 countries and 70 cities of India as on 31st August, 2009. It has received a lot of support from international universities and schools located worldwide, the first of them being the Pennsylvania State University, USA.
