Star Jalsa gives away Parivaar Awards
Kolkata, Mar 31 : Hiya, Ujan, Jhilik, Mouri, Lalita, Koyel, Riju, Toto, Om, Tora are not mere characters from mega serials aired on Bengali GEC Star Jalsa, but household names, whom people look up to as perfect illustrations drawn from life.
All the star casts from Star Jalsha shows hogged the centre stage of ‘Star Jalsha Parivaar Awards’, the biggest award ceremony which claimed to be the most revered family entertainer on television space in Bengal.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravish Kumar, EVP and GM, Star Entertainment Media Private Limited said: “We have gathered today to celebrate and strengthen our bonds. -‘Dabur Glucose - D presents Star Jalsha Parivaar Awards’ promises to be a fun filled evening to exhibit gratitude to your favorite stars from your ‘ Apnar Parivaar, Apnar Jalsha.”
The evening kickstarted with Jishu Sengupta and Kanchan Malik taking over the onus to make each and all present laugh their lungs out.
While Jishu with his convincing efforts tried his best to make Kanchan understand about the term ‘Parivaar’, Kanchan countered Jishu with his tantrums and equally strong arguments on the same.
This argument turned out to be a complete laugh riot; and however towards the end of the show, Kanchan came to comply with Jishu’s views and understood what a ‘Parivaar’ means.
Up next, were some breathtaking performances by the older generations of the leading families of Star Jalsha Parivaar.
From Dida and Dadu (‘Maa’)to the oldest Dadu and Didima, Haradhan Bandyopadhyay (aged about 86 years) and Dida, Mita Chatterjee (Ogo Bodhu Sundori), viewers got to watch all of them shaking away their legs and hips gleefully to the tunes of ‘Mon Maane Na’ and other popular Bengali film songs.
The magic of the 60s’ and 70s’ was once again enlivened and revisited as one by one all the leading Jodis of the Star Jalsha Parivaar took over the stage.
While Koyel and Riju (Dhonni Meye) made their entry as Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor swaying to ‘Ek main aur ek tu’, we had the couples of ‘Sindur Khela’ and ‘Bou Kotha Kou’ dancing to ‘Aao Twist Karien’.
Next in the pipeline, were the lead pairs of ‘Behula’ and ‘Bhalobhasha.kom’ who danced on ‘Khullam Khulla Pyaar Karenge’.
The act had an interesting way to end, both the old and new generation came together and put up a group performance on ‘Bhajo Gourango, Laho Gourango’.
The event will be aired on April 3, 6pm onwards on Star Jalsa. (IBNS)
