Sharjah stamp exhibition chronicles UAE milestones

Sharjah, Dec 7 : Some of the world's most extraordinary stamps, depicting milestones in the UAE's four-decade history, are on display at the Sharjah 2013 Stamp Exhibition.

The exhibition, organised by the Emirates Philatelic Association as part of the 42nd UAE national day, opened Thursday and will continue till Dec 9.

The event, now in its fourth year, has brought together more than 50 leading stamp exhibitors.

It is displaying some of the world's most extraordinary and elusive stamps at 128 exhibits.

The topics range from 19th century Egyptian postal stationery to the earliest days of postal aviation.
