Spot-fixing: Ajit, Siddharth quizzed

Mumbai, Dec 5 : The Indian Premier League (IPL) probe committee on Thursday questioned banned Indian cricketers Ajit Chandila and Siddharth Trivedi in connection to the IPL spot-fixing scam.


The committee, headed by Justice (retd) Mukul Mudgal also interacted with Delhi Police officials among others.

"The Committee on 4th December 2013 interacted with Ms. Sharda Ugra, Senior Editor - ESPNcricinfo, officials of Delhi Police, Mr. Pradeep Magazine, Senior Journalist, Hindustan Times and Mr. Aniruddh Bahl, journalist," the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement on Thursday.

"The Committee on 5th December 2013 interacted with Mr.Mehmood Abdi, constituted Attorney for Mr.Lalit Modi assisted by Mr.Abhishek Singh, Advocate and Mr. Sandeep Singh Hora, Advocate. The Committee also interacted with players Ajit Chandila and Siddharth Trivedi," it said.

"The Committee will next meet in Mumbai on 6th, 7th and 8th December 2013 and would interact with the Mumbai Police, officials of ICC-ACSU, RTI activist Mr. Naresh Makwani and some others, if time permits," read the statement.

Earlier, the BCCI has found four Rajasthan Royals (RR) players guilty of spot-fixing during IPL 6.

The board also banned former Test pacer S. Sreesanth and Ankit Chavan for life from playing any representative cricket, or in any way being associated with the activities of the BCCI or its affiliates

The lid was blown off the IPL scam after Sreesanth, Chandila and Chavan - were arrested along with 11 bookies from Mumbai on May 16 for their role in spot-fixing in the ongoing tournament.
