Tejpal insists tryst with woman journalist was a 'consensual act'

Panaji (Goa), Dec.5 : Tehelka founder editor Tarun Tejpal on Thursday told investigating officer Sunita Sawant that the woman woman journalist and he had indulged in a "consensual act", and that projecting it as a sexual harassment case was wrong.

"The investigation is heading in the right direction and we are interrogating Tejpal in detail...He is cooperating," a senior Goa Police official said.

A Crime Branch team is investigating the case.

Tejpalhas been in police custody since last Saturday, and spending most of his time going around pathological labs at Goa Medical College and OPD of the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour (IPHB).

Tejpal will undergo third round of medical tests today.
