BSF recovers arms & ammunition

Kolkata, Dec 5 : The Border Security Force (BSF) South Bengal Frontier on Wednesday arrested two Indian nationals and seized 2 pistols, 4 magazines, 14 live Rds, 3 mobiles and 145 bottles of Phensedyl from them in the Malda district under police station Kaliachak.

According to sources, BSF troops from the 125 battalion of South Bengal Frontier conducted a special operation in the general area of Churiantpur border outpost under police station Kaliachak in Malda district and apprehended two.

The accused persons were identified as Sakir Hussain aka Bakir and Abu Salam.

The BSF troops also recovered pistols, magazines, live Rds, mobile phones and bottles of Phensedyl from their possession.

BSF noted that the accused persons were in the process of smuggling the consignment from India to Bangladesh over the Indo-Bangladesh border fence.

BSF also informed that one of the arrested criminals was earlier named in a First Information Report (FIR) for smuggling Fake Indian currency note (FCIN) from the Churiantpur border outpost.

In 2013, BSF troops from Malda Sector had seized 18 nos pistols, 28 nos magazines and 88 nos rounds, officials said.
