Union Communication and IT Minister Kapil Sibal, along with State Communication and IT Ministers Milind Deora and Kruparani Killi, on Thursday launched the MX100 Leader, a handset by Maxx Mobile particularly designed to cater to the rural Indian markets.
The launch was held at the Telecom Exhibition '13 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Maxx Mobile, one of India's largest brands of mobiles and accessories, has a leadership presence in the feature phones segment.
The key features of the handset are long lasting battery life of 4400 mAh and LED torch along with sturdy exteriors and is priced at an MRP of Rs. 1932.
Ajjay Agarwal, CMD and Founder, Maxx Mobile, said: "Mobile phones have become the most ubiquitous mode of communication today and have spread to almost every nook and corner of the country. However, most of the phones currently don't meet the unique requirements of the semi urban/ rural consumers, where electricity, dust etc. are key issues."
"We believe this specially designed feature phone will introduce as many consumers to the mobile ecosystem as possible."
