Australian company Spartan Sports signed in MSD for Rs. 18-20 crore and Amity University signed Dhoni for Rs. 6 crore annually.
Spartan Sports' new '7 by MSD' logo will be seen on the front side of Dhoni's bat while Amity University's logo will be posted on the rear of the blade.
Dhoni's previous bat sponsorship deal was with Reebok which ended this November.
According to reports, Reebok had paid Rs. 6-8 crore per year. Now, the price of Mahi's bat has increased almost 3 times.
Spartan Sports' managing director Kunal Sharma said, "MS Dhoni is one of the world's best cricket players and a global sports icon that has transcended generations and cultures, this relationship will create innovative cricket products. We are extremely thrilled."
Meanwhile, chancellor of Amity University Atul Chauhan said, "We are happy to have MS Dhoni joining us. He's one of the stellar personalities in India and international cricket."
After Sachin Tendulkar, Dhoni is the most popular cricketer in the world of advertisement. He is presently signed up with 23 brands.
