Tokyo, Dec.3 : Japan to expand market for natural beauty and health products.


Located here is "Three Aoyama", which has become an attraction among the Japanese for its natural and organic cosmetics.

It is the flagship store of "Three" brand produced by ACRO Inc of Japan's leading cosmetics maker Pola Orbis Group.

The shop opens at seven in the morning for office goers. It also has a spa for beauty treatment and a restaurant which serves healthy meals.

The brand has attracted attention for its products which use natural ingredients that are good for the body.

Mamiko Koshi of Three PR & Communication, ACRO Co. Ltd, said: "We promote skin care products based on talks with the producers and then decide whether the material is good for cosmetics. We use very rare and precious raw materials in our products."

Japanese domestic ingredients, 85 per cent of which are of natural origin, are used in the products.

This cleansing oil is made of oil extracted from the fruit of tea cultivated in Shizuoka prefecture. It has superior cleaning power.

Similarly, this facial pack is made from raw materials containing fossil coral from Okinawa.

People's interest in these cosmetics is growing every year.

A customer said: "It is reassuring to use them as they are made from natural ingredients. I wanted to try them, so I bought it."

'Three' brand plans to expand its market in Thailand and in the ASEAN market.

As the country gears up for 2020 Olympics and Paralympic Summer Games, enthusiasm is high.

Here in the centre of Tokyo, there are hundreds of long distance runners who enjoy running around the imperial palace every day.

Also, the number of people going to fitness clubs is increasing.

Women are especially health and beauty conscious and find time for daily exercise to stay healthy.

An electrolyte health drink is favoured by health-conscious people for rehydration.

Mina Kitamura, Assistant Product Marketing Manager, Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., said: "The human body maintains its own internal temperature after sweating. It requires sweat water rather than plain water, which contains various electrolytes such as sodium ion. Electrolyte drinks are made with contents similar to sweat ingredients. Plain water or tea doesn't provide the proper amount of electrolytes required after sweating. Human body sends an alert after feeling thirsty which is called dehydration. "

Japan's Sports Association has recommended a drink which contains 40 to 80 mg sodium per 100 ml for rehyderation during exercise.

Pocari Sweat is a health drink which helps prevent dehydration and weight loss.
