Gujarat Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s prime ministerial candidate for 2014 election, Narendra Modi on Friday slammed Gandhi for his claims that Pakistan's intelligence agencies were contacting Muzaffarnagar riots victims in an attempt to attract them to terrorism.
"Shahzade (Prince) should name the youth who is in touch with the ISI... If he can't then he should apologise to the country," Modi said while addressing a rally in Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.
He also asked that why the intelligence officers were only contracting him, who is just an MP and giving him information.
"Who is this Shahzada?" asked Modi.
Gandhi on Thursday claimed Pakistan's intelligence agencies were contacting some Muzaffarnagar riots victims.
"A couple of days ago, an intelligence officer walked into my office. I asked him what is happening in Muzaffarnagar? He told me that people from Pakistan are talking to few Muslim youths whose brothers or sisters were killed in Muzaffarnagar," Gandhi said while addressing a rally in Indore on Thursday.
"The officer told me that he was trying to convince victims not to get swayed by them," he said.
Gandhi attacked the BJP and said: "The BJP thought they will not be able to come to power in Uttar Pradesh unless Hindus and Muslims fight in the state...So they did it."
