Addressing a rally in Shahdol, Gandhi said: "If people give us the chance to form the government in Madhya Pradesh, we will let the youth take the lead."
"It is Congress who has taken an effort to ensure food security to all. If you remember, Sonia Gandhi (Congress supremo) was ill when the Food Bill was being passed."
"But she refused to leave the Parliament until the Bill gets passed. We had to forcibly take her to the hospital," said Gandhi.
Gandhi said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has failed in Madhya Pradesh.
"The BJP government has no respect for the youth and tribals. Building roads and driving fancy cars will not earn the MP government respect. You can't preach about development to hungry people," he said.
