Red Bull ace Vettel drives modest 'Volkswagen people carrier' at home

London, Mar 22 : Ace Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel has revealed he drives a very humble Volkswagen people carrier and even does his own shopping when he is at home in Switzerland.

Vettel, who rules the world when it comes to 200mph race machines and with an estimated 35 million pound personal fortune, he could be living the high life in Monte Carlo, driving a Lamborghini and partying until he drops, the Daily Mirror reports.

Instead, home for Vettel is a remote corner of Switzerland near Lake Constance, and he potters around the countryside in a banger he bought before he became a Formula 1 star, the paper said,

When asked of his car of choice and duties to his team's major sponsors come first, Vettel replied the Infiniti is his favourite at the moment but the car he really likes to use is a Volkswagen bus a people carrier.

Vettel added it is easier to put all his s*** in the back, and he can also take all the seats out.

Vettel revealed he hates traffic queues and, and he admits sometimes he gets caught by the police taking dubious short cuts.

The German said people always expect him to be a maniac on the road because he is a racing driver but he added that he is fairly relaxed, adding he doesn't need big cars and he actually loves cruise control.

Vettel added he always obeys speed limits and that is for sure.
