India, Kyrgyzstan to boost defence ties

New Delhi, Sept 13 : Major General Taalaibek Omuraliev, Minister of Defence of the Kyrgyz Republic, who is on an official visit to India from Sept 11 to Sept 15 held a meeting with Indian Defence Minister AK Antony in New Delhi on Friday.

Both ministers discussed a range of issues of mutual interest concerning bilateral defence cooperation and also shared views on security issues.

Both sides reaffirmed their desire to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation in areas of interest such as training, UN Peacekeeping and defence industry cooperation.

Both side also agreed to take steps to enhance cooperation between the Armed Forces of both countries.

During this visit, the Kyrgyz Defence Minister visited various defence establishments in Delhi.

He would also visit Agra.
