This time the eco-friendly idols of elephant headed god were made from degradable materials like paper mesh and water based colours instead of plaster of paris (POP) and other chemical materials that are harmful for the environment.
A customer, Pratil Mehta, said he is excited about the festival and has already bought the idol for the celebrations.
"Every year we come here to Kazipet for buying these idols of 'Ganesha'. These beautiful idols of Ganesh ji are available only here. Since the past 24 years we have been visiting this place and buying the idols. This year we are buying the idol worth Rs. 7000," said Mehta on Friday.
During Ganesha Chaturthi, thousands of people offer prayers in make-shift tents set up on the occasion across India.
The festival has become an integral part of the lives of the people of the state and is celebrated across the state with great devotion.
On the culmination of the 10-day long Ganesha festival, the idols would be taken out in grand processions and immersed in water bodies.
The Ganapati festival is celebrated with pomp and show in western and southern India.
A designer of Ganesha idols, Arumugam, said this festival brings a lot of happiness for both the designers and the customers.
Idols are priced between Rs.500 and Rs. 10000.
The festival usually falls between August and September.
This festival is celebrated in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
