Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday apprehended 14 Bangladeshi national in Kolkata, West Bengal, officials reported.

Acting on a intelligence input, troops of South Bengal Adhoc - XI Battalion BSF deployed in Kolkata Border Outpost Kalutala, apprehended fourteen Bangladeshi National during a special patrolling, while they were trying to infiltrate into India from Bangladesh.

On questioning, they revealed that they were coming into India for labour work, BSF noted.

The apprehended Bangladeshi national were handed over to police station Hasnabad in Kolkata.

Meanwhile, BSF on Thursday also recovered a huge quantity of Ikon cough syrup from Agartala, Tripura.

Acting on a BSF intelligence input, a joint operation was carried out by the troops of 195 Battalion BSF alongwith Intelligence Officer of DRA and Tripura Police in the general area of Coalhole Chowani Agartala of Sherawali Bus stop.

During the operation, the BSF intercepted a truck and seized 20,000 bottles of Ikon Cough Syrup worth Rs 14 lacs, misc items worth Rs 1,17,039 and a truck worth Rs 10 lacs (Total Value Rs 25,17,039).

BSF also apprehended two Indian national namely Biswajit Goswami, 30 years aged (Driver) and Litan Ch. Mazumdar, 19 years aged (Co-Driver).
