Ansari praises EEC's contribution to mankind

New Delhi, Aug 17 : Indian Vice President M. Hamid Ansari on Saturday praised the contribution of the Ecumenical Christian Centre (ECC) towards promoting the idea of fundamental unity of mankind while marking the birth centenary of religious leader M.A. Thomas.

Ansari addressing at the golden jubilee celebration of the Ecumenical Christian Centre and commemoration of the birth centenary of its visionary founder, M.A. Thomas at a function in Bangalore, Karnataka said, "I am happy and delighted to be here today for the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Ecumenical Christian Centre and the commemoration of the Birth Centenary of its visionary founder, reverend M.A. Thomas."

He said, "I pay homage to Thomas, a distinguished religious leader and a reputed public figure who made commendable contribution to promoting inter-faith harmony and greater understanding amongst all sections of our society."

"His work in raising social awareness against the ills afflicting our society was noteworthy. On this momentous day, we salute his selfless service in the cause of fellow human beings," he added.
