A person was injured in two grenade explosions in Assam's Kokrajhar town, while in a separate incident, three grenades were recovered in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts, officials said.
According to reports, a powerful grenade exploded at a bus stand in Kokrajhar town around 9.30 am on Thursday, leaving a person injured.
The injured person, who was identified as Bipul Brahma, was admitted to Kokrajhar civil hospital.
The second explosion occurred few minutes after the first explosion at GD Road area in Lower Assam town.
No casualty was reported.
"Suspected militants of IK Sangbijit led National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB-S) hurled the grenades targeting to security personnel," Assam Police IGP SN Singh said.
Suspected militants triggered another explosion at Baghorgaon area in Assam's Chirang district on Thursday morning.
On Aug 14, three powerful explosions rocked the Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD) district after six outfit groups, including ULFA (Independence), NDFB (S) and Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO), called to boycott the 67th Independence Day celebration.
Security forces recovered two unexploded grenades from Kokrajhar and Chirang district on Thursday.
Top police and army officials have rushed to the site where the explosion took place and launched an operation against the militants.
An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion rocked Manipur on Thursday.
The explosion occurred few minutes before the Independence Day celebration started at Moirangkhom petrol pump area, some 400 metres from the 1st Battalion Manipur Rifles parade ground where the main function of the celebration was held from 9 am with Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh as the chief guest.
"The bomb was planted by insurgents at roadside which targeted security personnel," a top police official said.
No casualty have been reported so far.
On Aug 14, an IED exploded close to the Manipur CM's residence. No casualty was reported.
