Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari released the capsules that convey to the public the achievements of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's government.
Tewari said the capsules elaborated the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government's successes -- political stability, social cohesion, economic development and strides in international relations.
The video clips detail government initiatives such as the Aadhaar identification scheme, land acquisition bill and the food security bill.
The minister said his ministry has the mandate to inform people about the government's programmes.
He said the programmes have stood the people in "good stead" in the past nine years.
"It is a silent revolution that has empowered millions in the country. The India Story is an attempt to articulate that," he said.
He said the UPA story was different from the India Shining campaign of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance government.
Unlike the UPA story about government initiatives, the "India Shining" was a "mirage" without any substance, he said.
