Ex India batsman W V Raman appointed Kings XI's Asst.Coach
Chennai, Mar 21 : Former Team India batsman and Tamil Nadu captain W V Raman has been appointed as Assistant coach of the IPL T20 franchise Kings XI Punjab.
Welcoming the choice of Raman for the post today Col Arvinder Singh, COO of Kings XI Punjab said given the vast experience of Raman as a former Indian player and his coaching stints over the years, we are certain that he shall bring another dimension to the team's coaching staff.
The move would help the players to perform to the best of their abilities. 'We wish him(Raman) all the best for the upcoming IPL Season,' he said.
Raman said, 'I thank Kings XI Punjab management for providing me with this wonderful opportunity. I am extremely delighted to join Kings XI Punjab as the Assistant Coach.' He said he was looking forward to helping out the team achieve its objectives for the upcoming IPL Season.
'Kings XI Punjab has the right mix of experienced as well as young players supported by a world class coaching staff and I shall do my best to get the best out of the players', Raman said.
Punjab is a part of the nine competing teams promoted by the Indian Premier League (IPL). It is held and promoted by a consortium, which includes industrialist Mohit Burman, Karan Paul, Ness Wadia, bollywood actress Preity Zinta and other investors.
