Sri lankan fishing boat with 5 crew held
Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 21: The Indian Coast Guard ship 'Rajkamal' on routine surveillance sorties along the coast in Bay of Bengal has intercepted a Sri Lankan fishing boat off Ongole coast last night and apprehended five fishermen on charge of intruding into territorial waters.
They would be produced before the designated court here tomorrow.
The coast guard officials have handed over the Sri lankan fishermen along with their boat and the tuna fish catch of 950 kg to the Marine police here in the evening.
The Marine Police Circle Inspector Pavan Kishore told UNI that the fishermen left Trincomalai in Srilanka on March 15.
The fish catch would be handed over to fisheries department for auctioning', he added.
