Diamond necklaces recovered by Hyderabad police

Hyderabad, Mar 21 : Hyderabad police have recovered two sets of diamonds studded gold necklaces worth Rs 25 lakh at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Addressing a press conference here, West Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police, G Sudheebabu said today, on a tip-off, Punjagutta Special team headed by K Sathaiah, Detective Inspector of Police arrested a three-member gang--Chandrakanth Vino Bhai Parmawar (43), Ms Poonam Karthik Kodakar (46) and Ravindra Kantilal Parmawar (45)-- all hailing from Ahmedabad--on March 7, after receiving a complaint from MOR Jewellers of Panjagutta on Feburary 12.

On interrogation, the accused admitted their guilt, the Commissioner said police took Parmawar and Poonam Karthik Kodakar to Ahmedabad and seized the diamond ornaments on March 19.

The Deputy Commissioner said the offenders were arrested earlier by the Mumbai, Delhi and Ahmedabad police in similar type of offences and still they were facing trial in the respective Courts.

Mr Sudheerbabu said the accused used to enter jewellery show rooms demanding to show costly Jewellery.

They stole the valuables after diverting the salesmen's attention.
