Rajasthan Assy applies guillotine to pass budget demands for 2013-14

Jaipur, Mar 21 : The Rajasthan Assembly tonight applied guillotine rule to pass without debate budgetary demands of all remaining heads that could not be moved up for debate and discussion, headwise, in the House.

Prior to this, the House passed the demands of Industries and State Excise heads totaling around Rs 228 crore for the fiscal 2013-14. The demands of Industries amounting more than Rs 138.96 crore and that of around Rs 88.85 crore for State Excise were passed by voice vote after Industries and Excise Minister Rajendra Pareek's reply to the day-long debate.

This marks completion of second stage of the passing of the state budget 2013-14 in the House.

Now, in the third and final phase, the Rajasthan Appropriation (Second) Bill-2013 for empowering the government to withdraw the sanctioned budget funds from the State's Consolidated Fund will be passed tomorrow.

The House will also pass tomorrow the Rajasthan Finance Bill-2013 for amending laws, rules and related notifications for incorporating the budget announcements.

This would mark the final approval of the House to the budget for fiscal 2013-14.
