Mid-term poll, only way out to break imbroglio: Nitish

Patna, Mar 21 : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said mid-term poll was only way out to break the imbroglio created over the remark of the Union Minister about president of a political party, which is supporting the Congress-led UPA government and also other ill effects of poor performance of the present regime at the Centre.

Mr Kumar told mediapersons here that the situation could be nothing worse when there was deadlock in the Lok Sabha due to ruling party and not the Opposition.

A Union Minister passed remark against the president of a political party which was supporting the UPA government at the Centre and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi went on apologising for the incident, he said, adding such a situation was not witnessed earlier.

It was indicative of the fact that how the Congress-led UPA government was performing as on one side CBI conducted raids at the residense of son of DMK chief Karunanidhi, while on the other side Prime Minister Manmohan Singh described the incident as unfortunate, the Chief Minister maintained.

Mr Kumar said people were fed up with the UPA government and in the given situation, mid-term poll was the only way out.

Ruling out the possibility of support of his party JD(U) to the UPA government, the Chief Minister said there was no such possibility.
