Maharashtra Govt extends deadline for renewal of nursing homes licence

Mumbai, Mar 21 : The Maharashtra government today gave a breather to the nursing home owners by extending the period of renewal of licence from one year to three years.

While replying to a calling attention motion moved by Dr Deepak Sawant pertaining to the renewal of licence for nursing homes, Minister of state for urban development Bhaskar Jadhav said government has decided to increase the period for renewal of licence from one year to three years.

He said that as government has granted licence to the nursing homes according to their bed capacity, therefore, it was considering to give some relaxation to nursing homes in the state.

Mr Jadhav further said there are total 1,484 nursing homes in the city and out of that, only 1,056 applications have been received for renewal of licence, he added.
