Goa Assembly condoles death of Reverend Antimo Gomes

Panaji, Mar 21 : The Goa Assembly today condoled the demise of late Reverend Canon Antimo Gomes.

While moving the motion of condolence in the house, MLA Glen Ticlo Sousa said Antimo Gomes was a dedicated priest and educatinist who was instrumental in setting up Diocesan Society of Education in Goa.

He was also the recipient of national and state-level awards for education including the Goa Golden Jubilee award.

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Deputy Chief Minister Francisco D'Souza, Assembly Speaker Rajendra Arlekar, MLAs Digamber Kamat, Vishu Surya Wagh and Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco spoke on the condolence motion.

Later, silence was observed for a minute in the house as a mark of respect for the departed soul of Gomes.
