Joe Biden thanks firefighters for saving his '67 Corvette

Washington, May 11 : US Vice President Joe Biden cracked a joke thanking the firefighters for saving his Corvette, while honouring them at the 25th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner of the Congressional Fire Services Institute.

He recounted the time in 2004 when he was doing a Sunday program and lightning struck his home in Delaware.

He thanked them for getting his wife out, along with his close-to-the-heart car.

"...And in addition to my wife, you got my second-best love out of the house: my '67 Corvette. So thank you all. So I owe you. When I say I owe you, I mean I owe you," the Politico quoted him as saying.

Biden hailed the fire department's service and sacrifice, saying that millions of people across the country owe them for what they've done for them, and what they do for them every single day.
