14 killed in China blast

Beijing, Jan 13 : Fourteen people were killed and seven others were injured in an explosion in a village in southwest China's Guizhou province Monday, local government said.

The explosion occurred around 2.30 p.m. at Laoshan village in the city of Kaili, Xinhua reported citing sources in the city's publicity department said.

The provincial government has urged local authorities to spare no efforts in treating the injured.

An investigation into the case is on.
