Change of Guard drill not to be held on Jan 18, 25

New Delhi, Jan 9 : The Ceremonial Changing of Guards Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan here will not be held on Jan 18 and Jan 25 in view of the upcoming Republic Day Parade and Beating the Retreat Ceremony.


"The Ceremonial Changing of Guards Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan will not be held on Saturdays, 18th January, 2014 and 25th January, 2014 in view of the forthcoming Republic Day Parade and Beating the Retreat Ceremony," the President's Secretariat said in a statement on Thursday.

The ceremony is held every Saturday at 10 am.

It is open to the public .

The ceremony is a military tradition.

The change of Guard ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan was first opened to the public in 2007.
