Devyani's father protests outside US consulate

Mumbai, Jan 7 : The father of Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade, who was arrested for alleged visa fraud, on Tuesday led a protest march outside the US consulate in Mumbai against the ill-treatment by the New York Police.

"The US administration admitted that the arrest was illegal. All charges against my daughter are false," said Devyani's father Uttam Khobradage.

"The way she was arrested was nothing but kidnapping. This is an attack on India, an attack on the sovereignty of our country," he said.

Devyani's court hearing is scheduled for January 13.
